Employees of the local government of Davao pledged their 100 percent support for the fight against terrorism, a declaration highlighted by a signing of a manifesto and the wearing of anti-terror pins.

The signing of the manifesto, which was led by heads of the departments and offices of the City Hall on Monday, also marked the launching of the No To Terror advocacy campaign of Task Force Davao.

TF Davao commander Col. Erwin Bernard Neri said the pinning of the anti-terror pins is a sign that the Dabawenyos are brave enough to stand up and fight terrorism.

“After that incident on September 2, we emphasized that we have to raise the level of awareness and vigilance of the people against terrorism,” Neri said.

He said that the pinning symbolizes that the people of Davao are united against the common goal of fighting terrorism.

“Security forces can’t do this alone, so we need the help of the community,” he said.

Neri also calls on the business sectors to join the campaign by asking their employees to wear the anti-terror pins and to be always vigilant.

“Let us do this together. We have to show that we are united against terror groups,” he said.
